Launcher refuses to install dev version of technic.

Launcher/pack Version:

Operating System: Windows 7 64bit

Version of Java: 64 bit

Description of Problem: I can grab normal version fine, but if I try and get the 1.2.5 dev version I get the error Update Failed

Error Messages: Update Failed

Back up your saves (not that they transfer well), wipe your technicssp folder, and run the launcher with technic 7.0.1 to fix. Upgrading, as I found out the hard way, often doesn't work well (or at all).

Thankyou, that fixed it, I wonder why it messes up so much on upgrading?

I'm going to guess it's because the rec. build runs MC 1.1 and the dev. build runs 1.2.5 - there are a lot of changes, including the world data storage format, such that even vanilla MC worlds have to be converted. Now imagine adding an order of magnitude of complexity, including a couple full giant mod rebuilds, to all that...

but the point it failed at was comparing an md5 of the jar it downloaded, to the one a config file said it should have, personally I think it messes up file permissions somewhere, as I have had the error before when trying to upgrade of unable to delete so and so, which was only fixed with deleting also.
