You can't connect to a tekkit 2.1 server with tekkit 3.0. You need to go into options in the launcher and select recommended build not development build. If you are alread on recommended build then I would delete appdata/roaming/.techniclauncher and redownlad everything through the launcher (then make sure you are on recommended build.

You should be able to delete just the tekkit folder inside the .techniclauncher folder. If you delete the whole thing, you'll also lose whatever you have in YogBox, Technic, or HSM.
