Launcher isn't working

OP: Windows XP - 32bit

Java: 7u3 32

AV: Bull guard

Description: I load the launcher and it says 'checking launcher version' then closes and does nothing. I've tried launching the .jar but for some reason it doesn't open as I've seen before, just asks me to select a program, which I have tried many of. I have tried re-downloading and it didn't work. I did what it said in the 'common problems' thread and it didn't work.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

You are using a nasty piece of SPYWARE/ADWARE as your antivirus software. It just so happens that this is also stopping the launcher from running properly

Go and get Spybot Search&Destroy, run a scan, get rid of bullguard and get something less anal. Microsoft Security Essentials for free, or MBAM for money.

Nope! Still does the exact same thing!

Try the .jar instead of the .exe
