Quick chunk loading question

After reading up some posts and doing some messing around with F9 ...

...if I read this correct, the pattern is a + sign, but it loads all the chunks in the entire column from the top of the sky to the bedrock.

Is that right?

This is the definition of a Minecraft chunk. It's 16x16x[world height]. So yes.
