How do you "set" a spell to the wand?

I can't figure out how to actually set a spell that automatically casts when you right click other than the firebolt. I know you can hold down shift and cast spells like that, but is there a way to actually "set" a different spell to the wand so it always casts that particular spell when you right click?

You can find different wands from either chests or mob drops. If you were able to set a move to your casting then you would not exactally be playing it right. The whole point of other element wands is the fact that they are more effective against something so if you had lets say... Lightning set on your wand it would be the one you always cast so it is harder for you to get those pesky slimes that randomly appear with immunity to lightning.

There really needs to be a wand-like functionality for casting spells. It would just be a shortcut where you right-click the item and it casts the spell as if you had used the proper key combination.

Yes, so I can cast spells with the normal hotbar like other items.
