Disabling EE's Infernal Armour's Ability

I run a small server for me and some friends, And I keep accidently hitting C with the Infernal Armour on, I only wear it for its immunity to fire and lava, so I was wondering:

Is there a way to simply disable the ability without having to remove the item.

Or...just use a Ring of Arcana, Ring of Ignition, or Volcanite Amulet in your quickbar for the fire/lava immunity, and wear Quantum Armor - wait, that makes you basically immune too (getting the hit animation all the time is annoying, though).
