  1. Not quite what he means. I think he wants the default pack with ALL THE MOD TEXTURES added :P That requires decompiling all the mods too.

Its easy to do yourself, just it takes time, which is why I agree there should be at least a default pack with all the mod textures even if it doesn't have the vanilla stuff. I think the OP is going the wrong way about getting it made though.

still the same thing, the mods add there textures to minecraft, otherwise you wouldnt see anything other then item names, ...

  2. Hey, my uncle just got a new PC, and I was wondering if it was any good. Here are the specs :

    Processor : Intel 3.1 GHz Xeon E5-2867W

    SSD : 2x 512GB OCZ Vertex 4

    HDD : 3x HGST Ultrastar 7K4000

    Motherboard : ASUS P9X79 WS

    RAM : 64GB DDR3/2133 Corsair Dominator Platinum

    Power : Corsair AX12001

Video Card : 2x EVGA Hydro Copper GeForce GTX 690

Cooling : Liquid cooling set, including water-cooling loop, radiators, tubes, fans and etc.

    Case : Silverstone TJ11

He said he built it himself, and it seems okay to me, but I'd like the opinion of people who know what they're talking about. How do you find it?

well, i think it would be able to run any game in the freaking universe O_O along with about 50 million mc server's or about half of that amount of tekkit server's, lol

  3. direwolf20 by a long shot, as he does all kinds of difrent things, while the yogcast pretty much only do smp lp's, direwolf20 does ssp, smp, visiting other peoples smp worlds (other then yogscast as they suck), and he actually has mod spotlights of curretnly usable mods, all of yogscasts mod spotlights are from like 50 million years ago, so direwolf wins big time, yogscast is just stupid, stupid, oh and did i mention STUPID!!!

  4. I wish, otherwise I would have spent a little more and got overclocking parts. This is my first PC buy so I'm playing it safe. Should be more then enough for gaming though. Anyone who tells you that you need an i7 or more then 8 gigs of ram at higher then 1600 speed is high or trying to make you waste your money. The returns are near non-existent.

Video card on the other hand, matters a lot. I'm going with a 660 ti and that should be plenty for me and run most things on high or maxed graphics, and I got it on an amazing sale. The 670 and 680 are better preforming non budget cards though. If you can get a 670 on sale and can afford it, that's your card. It's still quite expensive though, and in a year or two it will be $100-200 less.

actually if your like me and like to run more then one instance of minecraft or have a bunch of virtual machines running in the background (and i mean a LOT) then ram is important as well

  5. In all honesty, anything over 200fps isn't exactly a huge change from 100fps, and anything above 1000fps is just serious overkill. It's like people saying "yay, I have 32GB of RAM! Wait... What difference does this make to gameplay again?"

umm, well some people like to do super ram intensive stuff along side there game, like i run tons of virtual machines

  6. no you didn't. That's a ridiculous claim that is demonstrably false.

yes i do, and its true, and you want proof about the $600 dollar thing? here you go :http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-x51/pd.aspx look at the dell price, it says $699 idk what your talking about it being false, as it says right there in bright blue that its $699, so about $700 idk whats wrong with you if you think that thats $1000 or more. so to original poster, a cheap gaming computer would be an alienware x51 thats under $1000, and while there are better ones out there, dont forget dell is more known, oh, and as for people who say alienware sucks, then in case you didnt know, alienware wasnt ALWAYS owned by dell, it used to be its own indiviual company, and have you ever tried an alienware, and if so, what gen, cause dont forget, just because something is bad, it doesnt mean it stays bad for the rest of eternity

  7. you dont know what your talking about, i use alienware and get about 2000 fps at max setting in tekkit/technic, AND i get about 3000 fps on vannila minecraft, so, do you get those fps? i didnt think so, and, idk what your talking about it being overpriced, as you can get an alienware x51 for around $600 which is a LOT cheaper then my old computer that was in fact overpriced, of course, then again, i got my old laptop at about 2004ish, so i guess then those specs were considerd good (old laptop was a compaq a916nr) which died about 8 years after i bought it, so it lasted a while, but anyway, alienware is fine

  8. well, it seems that because of how fast minecraft has been updating latley, its going to be a really really long time before there's a new version of tekkit, as there arent any mods ported to bukkit yet, actually i dont even think forge has been ported yet, so is tekkit going to last much longer? or is it going to switch to vannila minecraft server's as if so, i actually have a suggestion that would make it more managble, as there's a server side only forge mod that adds some of the most needed things for vannila server's, espcially modded vannila server's

    link for it is: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1484373-142smpfihgus-command-mods-for-vanilla-server/
