Firewall? Modem firewall? Use google and search for "is my port open" and you will find a couple sites that can do a basic test to see if your port is connectable externally. Turn off the software firewall and see if it's connectable after then just play to see what you can see.

From looking around, creeperhost net used to. Worth sending them a message but Djinnii has the best suggestion for that one there.
