  1. hmm that command isn't working. It is ForgeEssentials. The server is indeed in a far location but the lag I'm having is way longer than the ping. (20second delays instead of 350ms ping) @Meems33: Hmm again another host :/ I think I'll keep trying to fix this because changing host again is really the last thing I want :/
  2. Hard Disk Space: 150gb Bandwidth: 6000gb Guaranteed Ram: 4094mb Burstable Ram: 4096mb CPU Units: 1000 CPU Speed: 4000mhz CPU Cores: 2 Until now, the server only has 2 players on it because we don't want to open it with these lag problems. (the lag also happens when you are alone on the server) We should be having around 15 players when it is opened.
  3. I asked them several things but they seem to stop replying.. I must be getting annoying with all my questions However I really think the problem is the host because when typing some things in SSH while the server is lagging, those characters also take ages to appear. I'm getting so pissed from all of this :/ This is not the first time I tried making a tekkit server. I tried 2 hosts before this one, and every time there are weird problems. I've been trying to create Just simply a tekkit server, for over than a month now. Still no luck. All I have done is wasting money. Luckily you are helping me out now
  4. ok yes, it was during primetime. Something tells me that it is simply a bug in the internet connection. ram, cpu, .. all works fine. The client has no fps lag so then it must be the internet connection right? maybe the port isn't forwarded correctly? or is that not possible on a vps?
  5. The internet connection is just fine. Any ideas? :/ I really need to get this problem fixed because you can't do anything on the server. Is there any way I can check for myself why the server is so laggy? Any tools for checking what happens during a tick or something like that? EDIT: internet connection test with SSH:
  6. The VPS has good specifications so I don't think HDD, CPU or RAM is a problem. The map is just new, so (almost) no machines and no chunk loaders. There are also no serial placed blocks. I will check if the internet connection is good.
  7. Ok. I'm using 2GB now and it works fine :)
  8. Ah ok, thank you. The system has 4GB RAM. Is it ok then to use 3GB or is it better to lower it?
  9. Hello, I am having serious lag problems on a brand new tekkit lite server. You could describe it as 'block lag'. What happens is that client actions are very often delayed for a noticeable, to extreme time. Mostly the delay is around 0.5 to 1 seconds, but in the worst cases (which happen too often), client actions like placing blocks/opening doors, .. are delayed for like 4 to 8 seconds. The /ping always shows around 350ms, no matter if there is much lag or no lag. More information about the installation: Tekkit Lite on a CentOS 64 bit VPS with 4GB RAM - ForgeEssentials - Dynmap Any ideas what could cause this? (I forgot that I already had a topic about this, sorry)
  10. There is actually just one machine created now because it is a new server. It is quite a large machine, I'll check tomorrow if disabling it also fixes the problem. Thank you for all your help!
  11. Haha, exactly what I was thinking! On topic: I think your tekkit is looking just fine!
  12. No, I also have a vanilla server on that host and it works just fine. I investigated a little further and I think it has something to with the redpower2 machines..
  13. I don't think it is possible. Spawners check the distance of a player towards them. It does not matter if you add a chunk loader because then there is still no player nearby.
  14. Hello, I am having serious lag problems on my Tekkit Lite server. SSH tells me that the ping to the VPS is around 35ms. Ingame, the /ping command tells me I have 350ms ping. That, first of all, is very odd. But then, client actions like placing or removing a block are delayed, sometimes over 10 to 15 seconds. The game is totally unplayable because it also happens when you try to walk trough a door for example, then after 10 seconds you get teleported back to that door because the server things you walked trough a closed door. When things like these are happening, the /ping command still shows 350ms. So why are all actions delayed so much longer than the ping? The server is not overloading, CPU and RAM usage are within normal limits.
  15. Hello, The command blocks are not working on my Tekkit Lite server. I have enabled them in server.properties, I am Opped and in creative mode; I can place the blocks and enter a command, but when I add a button to the block and press it, nothing happens. I have tested this in vanilla minecraft with the identical command and same setup, and there it Does work. Any ideas? EDIT: I'm sorry, this post is in the wrong forum :/ could an admin please move this topic? Thank you!
  16. Ah thank you very much! I used the block and it is indeed very interesting and easy to use. Problem solved!
  17. It seems I am a loser then. My apologies. And about the discharging, I think it is not working for me. I tried with a 'charging bench', 'low voltage charging bench' and 'high voltage charging bench', added an (activated) lever to them, but the items do not get discharged. (it Does work with batteries, but not with an electric jetpack).
  18. It doesn't work, it still shows that it's using 3GB ram while I set it to -Xmx3G -Xms16m This is how I launch it: java -Xmx3G -Xms16m -jar TekkitLite.jar
  19. Hello, On my current host, it seems that I can no longer run the TekkitLite.jar file without using the -Xmx -Xms parameters. If I don't use them, I get a java heap size error. Is there a way to get rid if this error without using these parameters? I don't like them because they make the .jar show a constant ram usage of (for example) 3GB while which is just the allocated memory.. I can no longer see how much ram it Actually uses. I want Tekkit to just change its ram usage to what it needs; I don't want it to be a constant number. Is that possible? Greetings, Fallout
  20. Hello, For a minigame, I am required to dischage jetpacks so that the players start with an empty one. Is this possible in any way? I tried to put it in a charging bench, mfsu, mass fabricator, ... But those blocks don't use the jetpack's charge to power themselves :/ Are there any blocks that can do this? Or is there maybe some kind of glitch that I can use to make the jetpack lose its charge? Greetings, Fallout
  21. Hmm I could not find the problem, but I moved to another host and now it is fixed. Thank you for the help though
  22. No, if I run a regular server then it works just fine. The memory is constant so there is no memory leak. At the moment of a crash, if I then check the hystory of the memory, it also shows just normal operation. Thank you for your reply!
