Not sure how set up you are on your SP worlds, but I'd recommend taking a steel or obsidian paxel and getting a lvl 30 enchant ASAP. The fortune enchant you'll inevitably get makes mining redstone much much easier.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I've been unfruitfully attempting to create some strange matter on voltz v1.0.13 I've primarily been attempting to use short linear particle accelerators which consist of an accelerator block and an electromagnet track to get the particle 2-4 blocks away. From what I understand, the particle should explode upon leaving the track, with a 2% chance of dropping strange matter. However, using this I haven't been able to get a single cell of the stuff, and I've burned through roughly 16-20 stacks of dirt. Am I doing something wrong? Or I am trying to generate strange matter using outdated methods?

I'm having the exact same issue you are, except I have batteries with the ID 14227:1000000 and I can't seem to convert them to :100s at all. I've tried draining them, holding and dropping them, nothing seems to work...
