  1. I don't like the idea of using logistic pipes, then dismantle everything and setup ME all over again. I'll check them out (I am already on 1.1.5) but will try and focus on ME.

    At the moment the main problem I have is that I need energy for whatever I want to setup, and sorting the biofuel plant is taking a bit of resources and a lot of time :P

    Thanks anyway :)

  2. For reference in case anyone else looks at this thread.

    The information I got, moving from tekkit classic to tekkit main and checking the wikis.

    I know it's "easy" to look at the wiki, but considering the amount of new stuff I imagine a quick reference can be useful (at least it would've saved me some time).

    Buildcraft pipes are still there so nothing new about it.

    Other options if you don't like buildcraft pipes are:

    Power -> http://wiki.technicpack.net/Redstone_Energy_Conduit

    Main difference between the two is that the conduit doesn't lose as much energy as pipes.

    It will lose 5% regardless of distance whereas Pipes lose 5% (stone) per block or 0.5% (gold)

    Materials -> Use applied energetics ME network. It seems there's no "low-cost" option (redpower2 pneumatic tubes).

    I will need to try this, I guess it's possible to have a ME wireless link near the <whatever thing you want to get stuff from> and treat a http://wiki.technicpack.net/ME_Basic_Export_Bus as a chest, I'll update this post when I test this out.

    So basically an ME network acts as a centralized enormous chest.

    Liquids -> http://wiki.technicpack.net/Liquiduct

    Some info is also available here:

  3. As per topic, I am currently using pipes since Redpower2 is not into the new tekkit.

    Yet by reading around I found there are other options but couldn't figure out the proper "conversion".

    What can be used in the new tekkit to make better "smart" piping?

    And what's the difference?

  4. Hi,

    personally I use 3 magmatic engines per quarry and it works pretty well.

    Are you sure the maximum consumption per quarry is 40 MJ? I thought it was 12.

    Honestly I'd like to use biofuel (just pump that to a bio reactor already near the quarry) but have yet to setup the biofuel generation -_-

  5. Look for your tekkit folder, look for NEI.cfg file, open with notepad (while tekkit is not running), find that line and well, edit it O_O

    If it is not there you can just add it at the end of the file.

    Also, please, I'll gift you a bunch of .,:;

    Use them, I read stuff aloud and I almost asphyxiated on your first post O_O

  6. Uhm, sorry to intrude, but I am working on getting melons (read ad biofuel factory) and I am slightly confused at something.

    How do you automate the harvesting/planting since the range for those is only 3x3? Is there a way to increase it? or you placed those somewhere where it's not visible?

  7. I am using 1.1.5 so yes, I will try and get fusion going.

    Still, I'll probably use lava-based generators at first until I get some raw materials to work with :)

    Out of curiosity, I know EE was removed, and with that EMC conversion, but I read about Applied Energetics and was trying to figure if it works the same way, or what...

    If anyone could bother with a brief explanation I would be a happy pands.

  8. And I don't know what I'll be missing from tekkit classic.

    Of course I will "miss" EE2, but honestly that's the whole reason I am moving forward, game breaker IS game breaker.

    I did try and start a server but I am a tad bit confused.

    Normally before moving to all the fancy stuff I try to have some kind of "base" set up, which would include a limited amount of food/power generation.

    I could not find nuclear reactors in tekkit main and was figuring if they got renamed or what else may have changed.

    I normally have 4-6 quarries running in the nether to get materials but could not find a way to power them properly (except redstone engines, but I don't really like that, I'd prefer to use EU).

    Are there mods I should add that work with tekkit main and would help me achieve this?

    Atomic energy works with tekkit main? What else would be of interest? Any recommendation?

    I am more of the "techie/scientific" type, so setting up chains, refineries or whatever.

    Are there mods anyone feel like recommending that relate to this or improve gameplay?

    Suggestions are welcome :)

    Thanks for any feedback :)
