So I've given this server a try and here are my thoughts. I know my opinion doesn't mean much, but it may be helpful to others looking for a decent place to play:
Overall I've been very impressed. There's minimal lag most of the time and the community seem friendly. The spawn system is unusual but the 'starter kit' works really well and doesn't give an unfair advantage. The map is very large and I've yet to come across another dwelling, but that may change with time. At night the server does get full and could perhaps do with a few extra slots, but the performance is still very good. I get the sense that it's well managed.
The claim that the server isn't "pay to win" is dubious at best, with end-game items given out to donators. "Not for profit" would be a better description, although there's still a lot of server messages encouraging donation. That said, I don't mind it too much. Perhaps avoid giving out high-tier explosives to donors, but this doesn't seem to be being abused from what I've seen.
In spite of the above, I'd recommend this server. It's good fun with a friendly atmosphere and decent staffing team. Nice job.
