Well, threre is the magic boomerang. There are also bows. But, seeing as there is a copious amount of ore everywhere, the boomerang is easy to make and well worth it, in my opinion.

Vox, do you have any tips on playing singleplayer? I really dont want to join a server,but it seems this is largely aimed at multiplayer.

How do you handle sticky mobs? I found a skeleton that was sticky, and he stole every weapon I had. Including a bow, even though I just shot him and didn't actually touch him with the bow.

I think I'm going to do what you did, and play on peaceful. I just can't see myself doing ANYTHING note worthy on anything but. My biggest issue is that you need good armor and weapons to get into dungeons, but you only find good armor and weapons inside dungeons.. And the void. But.. screw the void. Screw it hard. I got lost for like 2 hours in there with no idea how to get out.

I can see the point, but it generally bothers me when a spell requires an essence to be used, thus making me carry around a stack or two of items just so I can use a spell. Thaumcraft, I just make a wand, pop some Repair on it, and have good ol' time. Plus, I like the golems.

I think I prefer Thaumcraft over Ars Magica :U

Personally, I think it is an awesome mod with some nice potential. My only complaints are that, at the risk of sounding like a puss, the game seems slightly more difficult than I'd like. (I'm on a singleplayer, if that makes a difference.) It seems like EVERYTHING is booby-trapped, so it makes me paranoid to explore things. It seems like the only way to get decent gear is to do dungeons, but I've had trouble doing the dungeons, even with diamond gear, because of the sheer amount of mobs spawning. I really liked exploring in FTB ultimate, but here it just seems like if I move anywhere, I'm at a huge risk of losing everything. A lot of things are loading incorrectly, aswell. I've seen so many battle towers that have been completely destroyed by loading incorrectly. I've braved a few, but am mostly rewarded by empty chests. So, what about it do you like and do not like? Any neat tips you have for people? Any secrets you've found? Any cool seeds? c:

Is it one floor below you? I noticed that on the ones that go underground, I'll hit the 2nd floor and open the chest, but he spawns on the 1st floor. Thus, I can't see him.

It doesnt have the cloaking thing on it, does it?

Let's try not to be a smartass, please. I did that when I first got online, and it didn't work. I actually said I tried it in my OP. If it is truly there, and I just somehow missed the button, all you have to do is say that. Being an asshole is not needed.

Hey guys, has anyone found a way to easily return to or find their house? I only played an hour before I had to scamper off to work, but I noticed there was no way to make a way point. So, with all the exploring and ass kicking I'll be doing, I wanted to see if anyone knew of a way to return home with ma phat l00tz.

I found diamonds out in the open. I got like 30 in the first 10 minutes. >.>

I havent had a single issue with mine. o.o Although, I do find it funny that I had been playing for only a few minutes and already have 22 diamond, tons of iron, diamond sword,pickaxe, and big sword, plus lots of gold :x

Hey guys, I was hoping for a little help here. I currently have a base set up, and it works, it's decent looking, but its not what I'm after. When I look on Youtube for bases, it's either people showing off the normal 9x9 starter house, or people showing off HUGE houses that wouldn't be smart to make in survival.
