I feel like this problem has gotten worse with 0.65.With 0.61 i only had to reboot my server every couple of days, now i have to reboot it every 3 hours. It's a standard unmodified Tekkit Lite distribution. It runs with max heap size of 1.5GB.

Looks like something to do with OpenAL. What sound device/card do you have? I'd recommend checking for updated drivers for it. Also you should update to Java 7 64bit (get it here) -- be sure to uninstall Java 6 first though.

Optifine B6 Ultra works fine for me. But i play on a server so :/ . I would assume you all are putting Optifine into modpack.jar?

I have the same issue, and made a workaround fix by editing RedPower's Class files that turns volcanoes off (it's a hardcoded fix, no toggling or config options). I would be happy to pm or email them to you, I'm not allowed to post the link outright.
