  1. And why is there only a *beta* launcher available from http://www.technicpack.net/download? You don't force a beta build on your players! You provide a stable build and a beta build and let the players make the choice of which one to run.
  2. I am using Technic Launcher 1.1.2.0. I want to play on a whitelisted 3.1.3 server I was recently accepted into. When I click Options, then click Manual Build Selection, then select 3.1.3|1.2.5|Latest , then click Login, it says "Update failed!" How do I connect to a 3.1.3 server? In case the answer involves updating the launcher: My friend tells me that the latest tekkit launcher no longer allows you to even select which build to use, so I'm not going to update the launcher unless somebody can tell me what version of Tekkit Classic the new launcher uses.
  3. OP: Just FYI, the patch in the previous post requires Java 7. If you're using Java 6 (which is available on more operating systems than 7 and is what minecraft/tekkit itself lists as the only java requirement,) then installing the patch will delete all the EE content in your world, except for the contents of alchemical bags. (The bags themselves will be deleted and uncraftable until you remove the patch or install Java 7.)
  4. Yeah, I found out in another thread it requires Java 7. Which means mac users are SOL unless they upgrade to whatever the latest jungle top predator is. Shouldn't affect most professionally hosted servers, just us dangerous amateurs. :P
  5. Now, hold on a second, Jay. Pilot is the guy running the server I mentioned. I asked him to add his error log to this thread because I knew if I just repeated what he was telling me (The EE patch kills ModLoader,) the next thing you would have done is ask me to post the error log. Any chance you can reconsider that 5-day ban? I asked him to post the log here. It's not hijacking. It couldn't be more on-topic.
  6. After trying in vain to patch our new server several times, and only the only result being to delete all the EE items in the world, we found out that this patch only works on 2.1.0 server installs, and the server files we downloaded were 2.1.1. Any plans to patch this to 2.1.1? Is there already a 2.1.1 EE fix available and this older thread just has higher Google pagerank for some reason? Please help.
  7. The only download I could find on the tekkit website is 2.1.1. But the EE patch doesn't work with 2.1.1, therefore any server running 2.1.1 either gets griefed into the stoneage or else doesn't have EE so players go elsewhere. So yeah, where are the older versions kept?
  8. All I know is, I've been hopping around from server to server the past couple weeks and moderating on one in particular, and almost all of them are overrun with problems. If what you say is true, I'd like to know what server you play on. (I'd also like for your admin to publish his patch so we can all use that while we're waiting for an official fix.)
  9. Ohhh. Why release the client if nobody can use it? Is it just easier to program and requires no testing, or something? Is someone somewhere using it to develop the server?
  10. When I run the Tekkit Launcher, I can click Options, and there's a pulldown menu called Select Modpack Build. Apparently I need to keep it on 2.1.0|1.1|Rec. Build, because if I try to use any of the newer builds, I can't communicate with any of the tekkit servers listed on this forum. I get the error: Internal exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset I'm guessing this means if you run a 2.1.0 server, you need a 2.1.0 client. Simple enough. What I don't get is, why is everyone running 2.1.0? We all know 2.1.0 is buggy as hell. Literally every public server I've been on either crashes every ten minutes or else has EE completely disabled. (And I mean COMPLETELY disabled, often times even if their Technic forums thread suggests otherwise. I would have thought we could at least get away with keeping Transmutation Tablets around, but nope! Apparently converting all my useless gravel into copper is a game-breaker somehow.) Should I be encouraging my favorite EE-friendly servers to switch to 3.0.0? Is 3.0.0 REALLY more unstable than 2.1.0? Because 2.1.0 seems pretty bad, at this point. TL;DR: See subject. (Sorry if this is explained elsewhere. I couldn't find it.)
