The most recent Tekkit version contains Minecraft Forge which now has its own modloader which doesn't use modloader.cfg. To disable BuildCraft go into your Tekkit server folder then into te "mods" folder and delete buildcraft, Additional Pipes and PowerConverters zip files. I think that is all you will need.

By the way same with Nether Gold Ore. Nether Coal and Nether Diamond macerate correctly into 2 coal and 2 diamond. Also Nether Tin and Nether Copper work well. I did not test with Nether Redstone because output in furnace = output in macerator and furnace is faster.

I get 1 Iron Ore out of furnace
