    If you're a child, you will have to have your parent provide consent for you to play Minecraft outside of the Xbox Live network through their parental account. If your account is not linked to a parental account, you will have to do that first.

    Technic not downloading modpacks

    You can attempt to contact them by posting in the discussion section located on their modpack's platform page.

    How to update to 64-bit Java:

    In order to update to Java 64-Bit, please go to the link below and download the version for your computer. If you're using Windows, please use the version Windows Offline (64-Bit). After downloading the updated version of Java. Please click on the installer to install it.

    1. Start the Technic launcher
    2. Click on the button in the very top right of the launcher called launcher options
    3. Click on the Java Settings tab
    4. Click on the memory dropdown
    5. Select a higher or lower amount of RAM.

     

    NOTICE: The recommended minimum amount of RAM to allocate is 2 GB. The recommended maximum is half your total RAM or 8 GB, whichever is smaller.

    Minecraft issue. Moved to Minecraft help.

    Newer versions of Java 8 have issues on Mac. Follow the steps below to install an earlier version.

     

    Steps to install Java 8u251 on MacOS:

    1. Fully close the launcher (hover over icon on your dock and press quit). If you don't then Technic Launcher won't detect the change.

    2. Download Java 8u251: https://javadl.oracle.com/webapps/download/GetFile/1.8.0_251-b08/3d5a2bb8f8d4428bbe94aed7ec7ae784/unix-i586/jdk-8u251-macosx-x64.dmg (a popup might appear regarding the download, press allow)

    3. Open Finder, select downloads folder and find the file jdk-8u251-macosx-x64.dmg and open it

    3.1 IF you see a message saying ""JDK 8 Update 251.pkg" can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.", then press OK, open System Preferences (:gear: gears icon), press Security & Privacy (Vault style icon), click "General", and in the bottom of that screen it will say: ""JDK 8 Update 251.pkg" was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer.". Press the button that says "Open Anyway". A new popup will appear and say ""JDK 8 Update 251.pkg" can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.". Press Open.

    4. Follow the steps on the installer. 5. Open Technic Launcher, click "Launcher options" (located at top right corner), click "Java Settings", and in the dropdown make sure 251 is selected.

    Yes, you will still be able to login in via Mojang(email) or Minecraft(username) accounts. All accounts will eventually be forced to migrate to a Microsoft account. Until that happens the launcher will continue to support all 3 login methods(Microsoft support is still being worked on).
