  1. No, only well organised people use Dwarf Therapist ;)

Hah, I use Lazy Newb Pack, so I guess I'm fully enjoying the Dwarf Fortress experience?

I merely use it for convenience, and to disable a very frustrating and small part of the game, managing dwarfs, on the other hand, is not terribly difficult, I take the extra time to assign migrant dwarfs better tasks then their current ones, or and even better idea, is to disable them completely if you truly have no use for them, then they'll sit at the meeting hall, where they might eat your supplies up, but you at least know where free and able dwarfs are at?

This is not done, obviously, I'm working on it tonight, to get this marvelous piece of work updated beyond Beta 1.5_01... And yes, this is a real texture pack, complete with nearly everything you'd need, it was nearly finished back in it's time, now.. to get it updated for Tekkit.

  3. Pfft... Only pussies use Dwarf Therapist.

I can't help but agree with this man whom is encased within a Taco. Anyone who uses external programs, other then The Lazy Newb Pack, to install a graphical pack, and disable Aquifers, is not fully enjoying the Dwarf Fortress experience.

  4. The longer versions that involve farming and jungling and what-not are so boring I feel like gouging my own eyes out, but the new arena format is much better. I still don't play it much though...

What would definitely make me play is some sort of quick deathmatch version with no minions at all, where the matches would be expected to take 5-10 minutes tops. That would be freaking amazing.

It is when you're attempting to last hit minions without pushing lane, and keeping the enemy back while dodging their skill shots. It's all a dance of death, perhaps at the lower tiers it literally just is sitting and killing minions, that would be terribly boring.

  5. I played for a while, but i'm not good at those kind of games.

I was born and raised on RTS games, Since I was 4 years old, I've played and enjoyed the Starcraft series. However, if I ever get int he situation where I'm out of my league... support healer is always fun.

  6. Your description is pretty much all platformers from that era.

Oh man. I just found God of Thunder again. It is so on.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, however, thank you for a different game that I will enjoy, to play.

  7. HueHueHue, Any fellow frequents of League Of Legends? I must say that I enjoy playing Mordekieser Also, before anyone gets into the circlejerk of it, I only play Blind-Pick, and I have quite the group of friends who enjoy it as well, something about yelling at each other in a silly manor is most enjoyable.

  8. Have an extra pickax > v.??? > select a dorf > l.abour > disable current jobs > Enable Mining > ??? > Profit

At least, that's how I remember how I made new miners, I always received plenty of migrants. A great deal of them were useless to me. "Alas, another animal dissector, I'm sorry urist, but you are now a blacksmith".

  9. That's one of the things that worries me about how they'd handle it. Deadpool had a recurring fantasy that his life was just a story in a comic book, and he had headvoices that he referred to by their font. I doubt hollywood would manage to convey that properly in a move.

Well, Marvel studios has been getting better at making movies, I mean, the Avenger's movies may have been "THOR 2: Thor and friends join the Avengers" but it certainly was on kick ass movie. Unless Deadpool is DC and I just presented myself as * ignorant as possible on the subject.

    * Edit: Reason; Removed "an" here.

  10. Perhaps one of you could aid me in an endevour to find one of my childhood games, I don't believe it was a dos game, but It could have been.

You were a scientist, whom of which collected treasure throughout levels, not a crazy scientist, but I believe one with big glasses. Each level was drastically different, and had some sort of platforming with it, the first level you start in a city, with some sort of planes, or UFOs flying bye, then you descend in to wat looks like a mine, with one goon and a minecart going back and forth along the bottom. Your goal, is to fall at the right moment, into the minecart, where you will then sucktion cup onto the ceiling, waiting for the minecart to pass, then jumping down, receiving the treasure at the end of the tunnel, and going back to the plate where you shall suction cup up, and wait for the minecart to pass in the other direction, where you shall then drop down, and run past to the other side. Lastly, there was a door near the middle right, where you would tally your findings, and then proceed.

  11. This!

First, hit up that thread, it's the best EE discussion I've seen of late.

Second, Zeric makes a great point; some people like to build quarries and mine the hell out of everything and that's fine. I, however, prefer to leave as much of my landscape untouched as possible (for aesthetics) and instead build crazy structures, underground automated sorting warehouses, and other such things. In short, I'd rather spend my time building than mining (I am not one of those people that goes to diamond layer with that thing that just mines 16+ blocks in every direction on multiple layers...not that there's anything wrong with that). I spend the first couple of days teching and then building for the rest of the map (I start new maps frequently because sometimes I miss some of that early fight-for-you-life time).

In the end, it depends entirely on what kind of server you want and what kind of crowd you want, economics and otherwise. You can assemble a group that wants to grind endlessly for every resource with minimal automation and resource generation or a group that builds epic structures and monuments with little regard for grinding diamonds out of the earth. It's your call, mate.

Alas, why are there not more people like this gentleman? Destroying the landscape, unorganized chests... such a pity.

  12. Also, before this thread devolves into chaos, I must make another point! Move back from Technic and Tekkit was rather annoying, so this way, you know what you have offline, and online, I don't know what else to say, I just prefer the mods on Tekkit to Technic, I could disable them, but why when you already have what you want?

  13. I somehow must agree, that I enjoy Tekkit more then Technic, it's more of a situation, where you're offered a very nice and tidy plate with a few good food choices, and a massive feast that just spans the entire table, and you don't know where to begin. I also Detest Mo Creatures with a passion that only a Mexican revolutionary could feel.

  14. Most servers use iConomy or some other kind of plugin.

Also, no need for that disclaimer, the mods will all do what we need to to keep this place as clean and functional as it can be, regardless of disclaimers.

Very well, I just thought of it as curtsy, that I would have no qualms with the removal of the thread rather then a very scenically placed thread lock and message from a mod. I've been to a large variety of forums, many ask interesting things, or don't ask anything at all, so I try to be as polite as possible to the forum staff.

Also, thank you for the insightful posts, I should probably explain a little bit more in detail, that there will be four particularly medium sized cities, each enough to house five people. (Four citizens and one mayor) Each "city" would have it's own theme to it, as for the first one, the one I'm building right now, I have named it Ironclang, and it is nearly completely made with iron and white lamps. And in each town, I was to have make some sort of theme to it as'well as you can imagine, Ironclang was going to be Industrialcraft^2. Another thing to note, is that I was not exactly going t use this for personal use, since I am terrible bored this summer, I took it upon myself to make an entirely functional SMP world, with pre-made interesting cities, places, roads, and the likes. Perhaps a mere question on "what is currency" is not very centered. I wonder if one could disable players from crafting a certain recipe for say, Industrial credit, along with energy collectors. And perhaps use the EE's EMC value for things to an advantage, and perhaps, have a Trade-O-Mat dispense IC for a price of one gold? I'm not sure.

  15. Could anyone whom is in the possession of a server elaborate on what is often used for currency on Tekkit servers? I'm currently making a world that will be a server and am setting up the signs and such, and am wondering what would be a good currency. If because of the EE mod package that is part of this mod, is currency arbitrary?

Disclaimer: If this violates some sort of rule, regulation or unspoken guideline, please remove it, I wish no trouble upon the mods.

  16. I'm one of the moderate mods. I will ban you, fast, but thats the end of it. Cheapshot though, Cheapshot will desecrate the body and hang it on the walls.

I like this person you refer to as "Cheapshot". Perhaps one day we will meet on the fields of Justice, where there, we shall duel like gentlemanly barbarians, ripping each other's skin off in the most elegant of fashions. All while we shout the deep and meaningful poems of battle at each other.

"Thou hath thine's Golem Buff! You shall return it to my this instant or face my wrath!"

"No, you merely have one too many burning twigs up your arse."

    I'm not a hardass, I'm the nice moderator :3

I'll still ban the fuck out of you if you break the rules, but I'll do it in a nice way.

One can remove "fuck" from an individual via a strong arm and a good swing with a hammer of banishment? Fascinating! Or where you referring to intestines and internal organs?
