  1. Whenever I created a background for my modpack, I always had issues with parts of the UI overlapping certain areas of it. If you're planning on having certain elements or parts visible to the user, then maybe this template will be useful. I just created it at so I can see what areas I should avoid putting text for example. Didn't take long, but thought I'd share it to save others time, but nothing impressive. :P

    Pretty obvious, but:

    • Black = Avoid
    • Transparent = Visible

  2. I have tried looking through the server files but it just comes up with a huge file listing all of the mods on the server. Had a look else where and everyone else seems to have a different file. Anything to do with me being on windows 8?

In the server folder, edit "ops.txt" and add your Minecraft username, or /op yourself using the console, "op <name>"

  3. You need to add the custom IDs from mod containers under the container protections part at the bottom, under "Mods:". For example, part of mine looks like this with 1.4.7 GP, but you only need the ID in 1.2.5.

      Mods:

        BlockIdsRequiringAccessTrust:

        - 2003:0:TE Tank

        - 2006:*:TE Conduits and Pipes

        BlockIdsRequiringContainerTrust:

        - 2002:*:TE Machines

        - 2004:*:TE Engines

        - 2005:*:TE Energy Cell

        - 2007:*:TE Tesseract

In Tekkit classic and the 1.2.5 version of GP, yours would probably have to look like (just an example):

      Mods:

        BlockIdsRequiringAccessTrust:

        - 2003:0

        - 2006:*

        BlockIdsRequiringContainerTrust:

        - 2002:*

        - 2004:*

        - 2005:*

        - 1945:25

Unfortunately I can't speak fluent German, so if you can't understand this, I apologise.

  4. The only way I'm aware of would be to download the modpack, navigate to the modpack download location (%appdata%/.technic/<modpack>) and copy the config, coremods and mods folder into the server root folder, then remove any clientside mods like NEI and Rei's minimap. Then you'll just need a Forge server jar, which can be obtained/installed using the correct version of Forge from http://files.minecraftforge.net/.

You can also add BukkitForge into the coremods folder, or user MCPC+ instead of the Forge jar if you wish to have Bukkit plugins installed as well.

I think that's about it, if there's anything else, just let me know. The only other addition would be if they have a mod such as Smart Moving involved, you'll need to add the Player API for the server into the correct jar.

  5. Hi Nent!

One of your mods banned me from tekkify and won't let me back on lol.

I stole some unclaimed quarries back on the old tekkify world. (Which ahref still hasn't put up for download, he's having trouble. :/)

Anyway, I can't log onto my old tekkit server 1.3.2 with the new tekkit lite launcher, do you know why?

Tekkit runs out of memory when I try to log in, my friend get's the error, it says "disconnected by server This server requires you to have minecraft forge installed. http://minecraftforge.net"

This is on tekkit classic, using 1.3.2.

This is the wrong thread, but you need to use Tekkit Classic to connect to Tekkify and any Tekkit 3.1.3 servers, and Tekkit Lite for any 1.4 servers/Tekkit Lite servers.

  6. Hi quick question been playing minecraft on Xbox for a month moved to pc version 2 days ago trying to teach myself tekkit. Loving it so far looking to move to multiplayer, Would this server be good for me to play on as I liked the protected aspect and seems friendly helpful mods loved the vid,

We are a non-PvP and non-grief server, so yes, we are a "safer" or "more protected" server in that aspect. Glad you're enjoying it. :)
