I found out how to fix the crashing modpacks (updates failing). When you start up the launcher, go to the settings icon, then allocate 1.5 GB of ram and increase PermGen Size. Save, and then restart your launcher and the problem should be fixed! Enjoy!

OMG. I just spent 2-3 hours (just now) and a lot more time before now trying to figure it out. I cant believe it was that simple... THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I too am having the same problem, but i know the cause to the problem. Everyone here is trying on a mac. I have no idea why macs will no longer run tekkit or any other mod pack. it was working for me and my bro at first, but then it just randomly started happening and we can't get it fixed. Please Help, someone.

Maybe you have it on TECHNIC instead of TEKKIT, which is what you need for multiplayer, if you have technic and try to go on multiplayer, it won't work. if thats not the problem, sorry, i tried. -

when i try to open the launch.bat file on my 64 bit windows operating system, I get an error and I would like some help. (I have downloaded jre7)This is the config I have for the launch.bat file: java -Xmx1G -Xms512M -jar Tekkit.jar nogui pause This is the error I get: C:\Users\Family_2\Desktop\Tekkit server>java -Xmx1G -Xms512M -jar Tekkit.jar nogui 'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
