Also make sure that Eternal Density isn't condensing things into diamonds, gold, etc.

If you're playing on a server, the owners may have that crafting recipe disabled, and if you are said owner, check the configurations. Also, just to be thorough, make sure you're putting it on the edges of a crafting table. Probably not the case, however. This shouldn't happen in Singleplayer, and if it is, I wouldn't know the cause.

The server most likely has explosions disabled. Since it can't break blocks, it'll seem strange, but it'll act just like an explosion, sans blocks breaking, therefore destroying dropped items and damaging entities, but everything will stay put. If there are no anti-explosion plugins, then I don't know what the reason may be. Also, please don't double-post your threads. This also seems to be in the wrong section. I didn't notice at first for some odd reason.

This was a common problem when I used AVG before moving on to Avast!. Because you didn't label your antivirus, I can't be sure if this is the cause or not. Just a bit of advice in case it applies to you. By the way, Avast! is free and works fairly well.

I cut a wire when I was, say, 4 or 5. Sparks flew. I'm sure I've done things that are worse, but I can't think of any.
