  1. If the problem ends up being the frame limitation, you can change that in your config file I believe.
  2. Read through previous posts before you post a problem. That might help considering I and others have helped this problem multiple times before. Change the 3 and 2 in -Xmx3g and -Xms2g to match the amount of RAM you want to allow Tekkit to use. It can't be more than you have. If that doesn't work make sure you download a 64bit Java if you're on a 64bit OS.
  3. I was actually thinking about making a guide that explains everything. But just look up how to portforward. Here's a site to help you http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm I would explain it to you but it's different for everyone. To use the server make sure you download it from the tekkit page, make sure you and your friends are using the same version as the server, then run the launch.bat. Of course do this after you port forward and it should work.
  4. For me, server administrative/backbone wise - 7 (I know how to do things with servers.) For me, in-game wise - 8/9 (I'm fluent in pretty much all of the mods to an extent. But there are some things I don't know or haven't used.)
  5. Some people aren't super tech savvy. They are probably people who just want to play a game with friends but have never touched the actual components of a computer. And google sometimes doesn't help. Hell, I didn't know how to port forward for a good year after I got a router and that's without asking for help, not knowing what I'm doing, and using Google. It's like looking a an engine for a car or a plane with no prior knowledge of anything to do with it. You would be completely lost and wouldn't know where to start. Rather than getting aggravated with them, tell them what to do so they can then pass their knowledge on and so forth.
  6. Refer to step 4 and 5 of the guide, that should help.
  7. It says in the forum post that Forge will interfere with the mod. I'd say it's just a matter of it being incompatible with other mods. Also, currently, it's not SMP compatible so it wouldn't really fit in a SMP mod pack.
  8. These are both probably Port Forwarding issues Here is a link to some guides: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm Just simply find your router brand (your router not your modem, learn the difference if you don't know) and then your router model then scroll down to the 'Minecraft Server' option. Oh and I suggest you look into making a static local IP address while you're at it, otherwise you will probably need to port forward everytime you restart your computer(assuming you're using a computer and not a server). Sorry if this ends up not helping.
