  1. OK! I got it to work finally. Here is what I did. 1. (this may have done absolutely nothing so skip and post if it made a difference) Copied Java folder from my desktop because those files worked. 2. took copied java files and moved them to my laptop 3. Used mkdir %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\rtemp "C:\program files\java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx1G -jar %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar pause 4. this let me see the actions it was taking. It was searching in C:\users\alex's laptop but there was a sub directory C:\users\alex's where appdata was supposed to be. -This is what it looked like: 5. I found that folder (C:\users\alex's) and it was empty so I made the correct path C:\users\alex's\appdata\roaming 6. I then went to my .techniclauncher folder and copied it too that roaming folder and HALLELUJAH it worked. Hope that helps and let me know if that copying over java thing was important. I dont think it was but it would be nice to know for sure.
  2. Maybe my flying blocks and effed up inventory/NEI problem will go away after this is fixed :/
  3. So i left the game alone for the night and when i came back this morning it didnt have flying blocks but the chests were still invisible. I found some coal coke in a dungeon and when i put it in my chest everything came back and when i took it out the blocks started flying again. It only works in that one chest.
  4. Heres a link to a picture of what im talking about http://imageshack.us/f/269/20120731232649.png/
  5. Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3 Operating System: Win 7 Home Premium Java Version: java 7 update 5 (64 and 32 bit) Antivirus Program: Avast Description of Problem: Loaded my world and all my chests and other things where floating in front of me. Whenever I turn they turn with me. I cant interact with them and the actual chests are still there but invisible. Also my NEI wasnt working when I looked at my inventory. I disabled spawners cause I heard that was a common problem with NEI. The world was working fine earlier. I did a force update as well. Didn't do anything and I cant find anything on this. 6. I think I may have found a pretty major issue with all this. I have 64 bit java but the process is 32 bit. Also if I click on open with then there is only one java to choose from but if i go to properties-> open with then there are two javas to choose from. Why is this so complicated!!
  7. When I type %appdata% into windows explorer the correct folder comes up. The reason I really want this fixed is because I cant run it at all on my desktop.
  8. I just noticed that whenever the game is running it is using the process java.exe*32 even though i have the 64 bit installation of java. It literally says in the control panel programs java 7 Update 5 (64-bit). thought that might be helpful.
  9. Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3 Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium Java Version: Java Version 7 Update 5 Antivirus Program: Avast and I also have Spybot Search & Destroy Description of Problem: I download the launcher and put it on my desktop, then a screen opens saying "Checking launcher version", then it closes and nothing happens. I have the same issue and have read through multiple different posts claiming fixes and none of them work...I know i've tried them all. Here is my issue. .techniclauncher.exe opens "Checking launcher version&quot and then does nothing. It creates the .techniclauncher.jar in %appdata%\.techniclauncher and if i use that it works sort of. I have tried the fix using the .bat file @echo off mkdir %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\temp "C:\program files\java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1G -jar %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar that doesn't do anything except make a new folder in my documents not in the appdata .techniclauncher folder. I've also heard that it doesnt like IPv6 so i set to use IPv4 with this but i still have the folder issue with this. @echo off mkdir %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\rtemp "C:\program files\java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -Xmx1G -jar %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\technic-launcher.jar http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/96/issueo.png/ -thats what it looks like. I have also tried putting that .bat file in the appdata .techniclauncher folder and it does the same thing there. I have tried java6 64 and 32 bit and java7 64 and 32 bit and those dont work. I have the most up to date version of minecraft and graphics card driver. The only problem with the graphics card driver is that if i run the .jar then it defaults to my built in graphics instead of my nvidia gt 640m. I have tried manually setting up the path for java and that does nothing. I have the latest version of the launcher. I dont know if this is related but certain items wont condense in my energy condensor ie. uranium and stone. Those are the only two that I know of right now.

I have tried everything I have found so far and if anyone else is having this exact problem please post in here. Please dont post if you cant connect to minecraft.net or your updates fail or you cant get the launcher to work at all.
  11. I am using java R7. This is a week old computer and I have unistalled and reinstalled Java multiple times to make sure im not doing something stupid and wrong. When I say it creates the path I mean it literally creates new folders in what ever folder the .bat is in so if I have the .bat in documents that path or all those folders are placed in the documents folder instead of the .techniclauncher in the %appdata% folder http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/96/issueo.png/
  12. nope. it didnt work it just created the same path inside the .techniclauncher. I can play the game with the .jar but it doesnt work very well, but one thing I noticed is that there is no rtemp folder in .techniclauncher. there is only temp.
  13. it doesnt create the folder in .TechnicLauncher exactly. It creates the path C:\Users\My Laptop\Documents\Laptop\AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\rtemp instead. im going to add the .bat to the .TechnicLauncher folder in appdata and see if that works
  14. I tried all of that and all it did was a make a folder...I may have done the path enviroment variable wrong though cause i dont really understand it. I also think it might be due to the fact that I have the TechnicLauncher.exe in the wrong place. It's in my downloads folder and I also tried it in the .techniclauncher folder. neither are working. I have the .jar in there as well and that is sort of working.
