Yep, you need it capture teh sparkles, other wise it wipes your memory out and crashes. lol

You need Optifine to get it working properly IMO.

I have the same error, getting rather annoying now. At first I could live with without it, but certain things require sounds, like Mobs just appearing in front of me without warning. The others on the server have sound. OP - How did you fix it, if you did ??
