What makes you say I need to update my java? I'm running 1.7.0_21 This is the latest update. I'm even using the 64bit version.

I have done much testing for upgrading my server from 1.0.6 to 1.1.4 and found that there is a large performance problem with 1.1.4 It takes 20min for the server to fully boot up and be ready for people to login. After it's up and running the CPU has a 30% increase to idle running and there are consistent spikes to 90% that don't last long as long as no one is logged in. After people are logged in the spikes stay there for a long time and the game is almost unplayable. This does not happen with the same group of people on the 1.0.6 version. We will not be updating... So the server had some complications this weekend: Chunk use was way to high and cause a glitch that required me to create limits on chunk use to 36. (I can be convinced to increase if presented with a good case...) The company that hosts our domain name was getting hardcore DDoS attacks all weekend and made it hard for your computer to get a link to our server. (This was out of my control) Through this I have learned some new things about DNS records and have made it easier to connect to our server be elimating the port at the end... So new name that's easier to use... Please now use tekkit.vrealms.org

OK It's back up now. The problem was with chunk loaders. I have now limited the number of chunks each player can have to 36 This should be enough. I hope this will keep the server stable.

You are correct, it's happening way to often. I'm working on the problem. I thank you for giving me grace while I improve the reliability of our server. It's back up now...
