A way around this is to download the .jar launcher from the technic site, and run it with Java.

Launcher Version: Latest Operating System: Windows Vista 32 bit Java Version: Java 7 Update 7 Antivirus Program: Microsoft Security Essentials Description of Problem: Tekkit has become very unresponsive in multiplayer, I decided to reinstall yesterday (before these problems) and I installed Minecraft fine. The .exe TechnicLauncher download does not work, so I ran the .jar one with Java. It installed Tekkit fine. When I tried to run it last night, it would play smoothly for about 2 minutes before crashing (no message, it would just stop responding.) So I reinstalled Java, and played a few minutes before crashing again. I tried it again this evening and it is extremely choppy, although it works fine in singleplayer. Update: Turns out the framerate lag is unrelated and caused by my graphics settings too high. So I turned then down, and played for about 5 minutes. Tekkkit then stopped responding for a few seconds, then when it came back, the framerate was really low again. This happened when I clicked on a recipe. Update: Reinstalled Java and Minecraft/Technic again. Seems a lot of people have my problem, I can play fine for about 10 minutes, then it becomes so laggy I have to close it with the task manager. I can't post a new thread it says I don't have permission. My problem was exactly the same as his ans people weren't understanding him so I posted mine. Why is the forum full of people with smart remarks and no actual help? I mean seriously every thread I've seen asking for help, someone says to download Java and everyone else takes the piss, or they do like you and act like some wannabe moderator, its ridiculous.

I am having the same problem, I was playing Tekkit 30 mins ago fine, so I know I have the correct Java. I deleted the files in %appdata% and downloaded Minecraft, I ran it, then downloaded the Technic Launcher. When I run the .exe it says it has stopped working, and in %appdata% the only thing present in .techniclauncher is a logs folder with a blank .txt file in it. Edit: I found a soultion, I downloaded the .jar file instead of the .exe one and ran it with Java.
