10 minutes of updates every time I launch

It goes through the "Downloading update..." phase every time I start the launcher. The splash screen opens over other windows and can't be minimized or resized which is annoying. Do I really have to wait 10 minutes to play every time I try to start the launcher now?

 

Edit: I am using the new launcher. 4.0

Stop running the old Launcher. Download and run the new Launcher executable.

Hmm. Yeah, looks like major issues are afoot. Guess we'll have to wait it out.
