Mod Pack Download Problem

Ok, so I downloaded the launcher and when I try to install hexxit or download it to play, it says failed to download please consult with modpack author. I have a mac. What do I do? How do I open it? It says the same when I try to download or install,   tekkit, voltz, etc. Please HELP ME
