trillo Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I find the new launcher cumbersome and an exercise in frustration to use. The lack of of the ability to easily install a modpack by pasting in the url for the modpack into the launcher is a total fail especially when the modpack web page automatically copies the URL to the clipboard.
The_Doctors_Life Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I don't know how to revert, but The new launcher employs a "url" sniffer, so when an API link is copied while it's open it will auto-add the mod packs. disconsented 1
CharZinta Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 . I find the new launcher cumbersome and an exercise in frustration to use. The lack of of the ability to easily install a modpack by pasting in the url for the modpack into the launcher is a total fail especially when the modpack web page automatically copies the URL to the clipboard. I'm not even sure what you are talking about. The number of support posts, new updates, and general conversation about the new launcher makes it easier to use and for mod pack authors, like me, I find it an incredible benefit due to the addition of Soldier. I know a lot of people hate change and it has been a bit of a bumpy ride, but you almost always get that with new software and you will get it with software supported for free by a community of those who love something. First, though its only my opinion and knowledge, you will not be reverting back to the old launcher. My software development career says the old is gone welcome the new. Then your statement, "Cumberson and exercise in frustration" should be explained a bit more. Generic random statements just tell someone that you just hate the new thing and can't be bothered to learn the changes. Let us help you.

Actually, if you paste a pack URL into the launcher search window, it...finds the pack, which you can then click on and install. Alternatively, you can simply click the Install this pack button on the site and it will add the pack to your list of packs. Try it. Go ahead, I'll wait. In the future, maybe you could refrain from spouting off about how badly things work until you've tried them.
