Any way to get rubber of flatland?

I am doing a hardcore and flatland map. I have almost everything you can make without rubber, and I want to make more stuff. So, is there any way to get rubber without spawning them using NEI?

If you have regular wood you can make IC2 crops and crossbreed until you have stickreed. It looks like sugarcane but at the final stage it harvests for resin.

As much as i know, no. Unless the blacksmiths have the saplings.
