Packs Won't Load

So I have downloaded 2 different modpacks, added up to 5GB of ram to the launcher, but to no avail, nothing loads.

 

I will push play to start the modpack, and a minecraft window will pop up with a black screen; it never loads to the minecraft start screen. It just stays at a black screen. I don't know what the problem is. Please help! :c
