Respawn
Hey. Just want to find out whats the normal memory usage is for a normal tekkit server.
Backplague
It defaults at 1 gig, but the recommended amount is 3-6 gigs.
Respawn
ow no i don't mean to host a server. Im not sure how to put it. lol Well We have a server but its taking up 10.8% up to 17.5% of the servers memory. I just want to know if that is normal or if we have a memory leak. Backplague
If you are using the normal unmodified Tekkit server, it will use 1 gig of your memory. If ~15% of your memory is 1 gig, your server may be problems with the memory. You may need to get more memory, the server software should not have any memory leaks. Respawn
we are runing the server with 8gig with around 75 to 100 players.
Backplague
Then there should be no problems running the server unless you have given the server an insufficient amount of memory.
aldrigviking
1 gig? damn.. I had hoped my server ran with that amount. I have 8GB available, and tekkit just eats up at least 2.5GB within minutes (heap size), even though I have some aggressive java garbage collection on it, guess that's the consequences og having multiple worlds. Madlark
My server uses about 500-600Mb of RAM even when nobody's online. It's a pretty huge world though, and I'm using Dynmap. With 2-3 people online it goes to 1.1Gb and above, easily.
