OK, these are mostly aesthetic changes, but my first question is how to disable IC2 tin and copper and replace it with redpower 2 tin and copper in technic. again, mostly a aesthetic change and not absolutely necessary, but I do like the overall look of of the RP2 ores over IC2 ores, despite having the same functionality.

Second question is: is tekkit, despite being DESIGNED for SMP, able to be played on SSP? just curious, not really going to play it in SSP, although I do like the fact that it has all the 1.2.5 bonuses and iron chests.

Last question: what's so special about volcanos? yeah, I get that they're bad*** places to live on (especially the shield ones), they're the sole providers of basalt and friends, they provide a near infinite source of power for the geothermal generator which is part of another mod anyway, the have a long vertical shaft of lava going almost down to bedrock although I do see shield varients with shafts only going to layer 64. But it seems like they're just THERE and not important.

well, those are mostly not important and/or aesthetic and not game-breaking, but thanks in advance to whoever answers any of these questions.

for the ores, you'd have to mess with the config files for IC2 and redpower. it shouldn't be too difficult as that stuff is usually pretty well named. just take a look through them and you'll probably spot the right option.

volcanoes are there to look cool. there's really no other purpose to them currently. kinda like RP2 rubber trees.

See freakachu's post above mine.

Yup. It works fine.

OK, so I managed to disable IC2 copper and tin, but the redpower config file is not in the format I'm used to, although I DID see

generate {

copper=0

silver=1

tin=0

}

}

}

So I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that since silver is at 1 and it generates, then I'm going to have to set tin and copper to a number above 0 to get them to generate... although i'm assuming that setting it to 1 will make it as common as silver, which is not what I'm looking for here... I'm probably going to go through a little trial and error to see what number is best... or I could just choose the comparatively lazy option and wait for a reply.

setting it to 1 will make it generate. that isn't an indication of how much gets generated, it's simply a true/false field. in programming 0 is used to represent "false" and 1 to represent "true"

basically you're saying, "yes, turn on this ore generation" by setting it to one. other setting will either do nothing, or cause the ore to not generate properly.
