Is this a glitch or am I stupid?

In my server with a few friends we have power lines running from a nuclear reactor far away. we have it all converted to electricity but if we go near the powered wires in survival mode we start taking damage? we are using insulated wire but im not sure what else to do... Please Help!! (Not sure if I am posting this in the correct place sorry)

How much insulation do you have on the wires? This happens because the power from the reactor is so high being to the wires is dangerous. Also try investing in a Quantum Armor set for everyone, just to be safe.

Were using insulated gold cable at the moment, and its a town, the power cables are on big tall post like real life, I dont think everyone will want to walk around in quantum suits..

Try using 4X (or 3X, not sure) Insulated High Voltage Cable. You may need to setup some MFSUs in the power lines to keep the energy loss at minimum.

Thanks, We have houses around the place with Batbox's which use some power as well

Glass Fibre Cable is also a good way of transporting power because it has the smallest energy loss there is (1EU per 40 blocks) though it hates extreme voltages (>512EU/t).
