Insane lag after a few hours playing

Hey there. tried to post in the technic launcher bug/problem forums. But apparently i didnt have access for that forum.

Anyways. Im not sure if this is a direct tekkit problem. But here goes

After a few hours in tekkit. Either on SP or SMP i start to get fps drops. Goes from 90 fps to around 50ish. then after a while it goes down to around 20 fps and become almost unplayable.

Restarting the game sort the problem out for a few minutes, then it starts again.

After quitting tekkit and trying to play another game like battlefield 3. i cant. I have close to 0 fps in bf3. Run on 100 ish normaly. Only solution is to restart the computer. Then its back to normal quirk free playing.

It seems like it only happens after playing tekkit. perhaps also minecraft.

This seem to have started after i upgraded my computer.

I bought a new SSD drive. Corsair Force GT.

New motherboard. Asus Sabertooth Z77.

New ram. Corsair Vengeance Ddr3 1800 mhz. 16gb.

And a new cpu. Intel i5-37570K

so this is my current specs

Mainboard : ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. SABERTOOTH Z77

Processor : Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3400MHz

Physical Memory : 16384MB (4 x 4096 DDR3-SDRAM ) Corsair Vengeance

Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590

Hard Disk : Corsair Force GT ATA Device (120GB) SSD drive

I am running 3 monitors. I know that take the performance down. But ive always played with 3 monitors. The problems with lag happened recently after upgrading. So its not the monitors that is the issue

And even after restarting with the 3 monitors i run bf3 at ultra with around 100 fps. Even more if i ran with 1 monitor.

I am usualy using youtube on one of the monitors while playing. But the lag happens without it up aswell. Didnt before the upgrade.

Also if i watch a movie with VLC i lag in the game intensely. Making both the movie and the game unwatchable/unplayable. Also didnt happen before the upgrade (starting to think it was a downgrade -.-)

My temps are decent. Cpu at around 40 degrees load. Hd at around 35. gpu at around 80 ish. Cpu load is around 40% and memory load is around 65%

is there anyone that have any clue about what i can try out to sort this problem out ?

Can it be a borked installation of windows ?

I run windows 7 64 bit btw.

Or can it be a borked installation of java ?

It looks like it only happens after playing minecraft/tekkit. But then again. had a complete computer freeze while playing star wars the old republic today

(no viruses btw. Scanned with both Avast and mbam anti malware)

i just chalk it up to the nature of minecraft and the efficiency of java. You can try one of the methods for starting tekkit with more memory dedicated to java and see if that helps. If your lag continues after exiting tekkit i'd check that java is unloading from your process list.

I have similar problems, but I know its java. I've tried giving it 1.5gb to play with but it always reverts back to 1gb :/
