Lost my wold on reinstall, help!

Yes, it's one of those "I lost my save" threads, I'm new here so excuse me if there's some whole sub forum where these should all go.

To make a long story short, I had to reinstall my tekkit, and when I copied my save file to back it up I selected the wrong folder, and instead made a backup of a previous backup that I must have forgotten about (from aaaages ago), blah blah blah. When tekkit reinstalled it deleted all my save files (fair enough) but is there any way to get this back? (excluding things like system restore and file history) I was hoping maybe tekkit itself makes a copy of the save files it deletes? I know it's a long shot, but I've been playing this world for months now.

I'm running Windows 8 so I can't use the "previous versions" tab in the properties menu, and the save files were stored on an SSD, so data recovery software won't be much use.

If anyone has any ideas, help would be much appreciated.

Bar some extraordinary measures or better backups, once it's deleted it is truly gone.
