Can't get more than 1gb

I have installed Java 64 bit and I use windows. But when I try to change the memory I can use it only goes up to 1gb. Can someone please help me figure out what I am doing wrong?

Nevermind, I actually figured it out!! Is 2.5gb enough memory for the modpacks??

Try it. Unless the pack is huge, should be enough for most.
