technic lauches says checking launcher version

Java Version: latest 64 bit downladed today

Antivirus Program: avira

Description of Problem:

it checks launcher version and closes. i read the quick fixes log and none of the fixes work

if you have a .techniclauncher folder, give us the log. Otherwise you can try adding everything related to the launcher as an exception in your antivirus, temporarily turning off or uninstalling your AV. Avira isn't usually a problem, but without further info, this looks like the same problem we have with AVG and Norton.

i went to the jar and instead of just trying to open i right clicked and chose open with java platform se binary and launcher came up correctly
