Won't Open! No matter what I do!

Launcher Version: Latest I just barely downloaded

Operating System: PC

Java Version: Latest I get auto updates

Antivirus Program: AVG or AVI

Description of Problem:

Whenever I try to open up the .exe it says checking launcher version and then closes. I also don't know what to open up the jar. file with! I've tried every thing but then it goes all wacko!

Error Messages:

exe.: Checking Launcher Version/ jar.: Invalid Command

• AVG is a bad antivirus for the Technic Pack. Try using Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials - free, don't block programs for no reason, and they are obscure enough to work.

Well all bunch of junk pops up. I'm using 7. What do I use to open up the jar file with?

I'm using 7. Whenever I try to open up the .jar it goes weird and a bunch of junk pops up like save this file and that, and I saved it all and opened it all up, then nothing happened.

Why tell it again? They already supposedly did everything, so that would include checking the stickies and trying those solutions, the first thing someone should ever do.

Make sure you're opening it with java.

Why tell it again? They already supposedly did everything, so that would include checking the stickies and trying those solutions, the first thing someone should ever do.

It's heartwarming to see such an innocent faith in humanity, but sadly, enough, the case where the guy actually checked the stickies is painfully rare.

Do I open it with Java 7 or is there like some extra file somewhere. It told me to download the Java JRE, and I enabled it, but do I open it with Java JRE or just open it with Java Web Start Launcher

Java JRE. JRE is Java Runtime Environment and is the standard Java program used to run minecraft. So yeah, Java JRE. I have no clue what Java Web Start Launcher does. :s

I downloaded and enabled JRE but I can't find the file for it.
