Weylin Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 I'm wondering if there's a comprehensive list of the minimum tools required for uprooting certain devices. Solar panels have to be removed with a wrench, yet the clustered ones can be mined with a pick. Standard generators I think can be mined with a pick. Simple T1 machines seem to be able to be removed without any loss with a wrench. Advanced machines seem to require an electric wrench on lossless mode. Does this sum things up, or is there more to it? Is there luck involved?
DanielJin Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 1.can be removed with a pickaxe without loss. (generator, batbox) 2.can be removed with a wrench with a loss rate. (standard machines, energy storage, other generators) 3.all blocks in 2 can be mined with a pickaxe but turning them into their original recipe component. (machine block, advanced machine block, generator) 4.not sure about advanced machines.
Xylord Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Everything but 1 and 3 needs to be removed with a wrench. There is always a loss chance, even with the electric one. In lossless, everything can be removed without loss. As simple as that.
Weylin Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 I'm wondering if there's a variable probabilty, because using a wrench on a mass fabricator always broke it, and I've wrenched tier 1 machines dozens of times and it never once broke.

Are you sure it "always" broke? How many times have you tried? As quoted from the official wiki that can't be trusted: Without the Superwrench 100% mod, there is a chance (Aprox 70-90% success rate) that when you do, the machine will not be successfully removed and instead you'll be left with a gutted Machine Block.
