arrow2pwnu Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 I was in the midst of developing a tekkit server when I realized that I didn't like ANY of the world generations that minecraft has. I was wondering if there is any software that I can use to generate a world that still has some of the tekkit ores and everything. It'd be very helpful if anyone could direct me to that. Quote
Expozay Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 I highly suggest Multiverse for world generation, as I've said a minute ago on another thread, it has a plethora of features allowing you to generate a world to your peice of cake. It's one to have been around for quite the time, very stable. I currently use it on my Tekkit server. http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/multiverse-core/ Quote
Nentify Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 If you don't plan on having multiple worlds, Multiverse isn't necessary, I'm pretty sure you can just delete the world, change the seed in your server.properties and try it, or leave the seed empty and generate a new random world. I'm also pretty sure it's the same as Minecraft, just with custom ores and some extra world features like volcanoes and marble. Quote
prenetic Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 A plugin I often use to get a quick feel for a world seed is called WorldBorder. If you're looking to utilize the built-in world generation algorithms for your server this may be a good place to start. You basically specify a seed (or delete your world files and restart the server to get a random seed), specify the world border and tell the plugin to "fill" in all blank chunks. With Dynmap installed as well the map will be automatically generated as chunks are created. http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/worldborder/ Quote

Doesn't have to be for multiple worlds, I'd say it's the most convenient plugin for world generation period. Something he's looking for : ) Quote
