when ever i try to play tekkit it says Update Failed

When evr i log into tekkit launcher it says Update Failed

Although there is currently a bug with the launcher that should blow off in a few hours,

you should tell me your Anti-Virus program, and it's more than likely you'll need to get rid of it.

I disabled my AV so im pretty sure its not the AV is causing my issue, i believe its the validation on the minecraft.jar md5 check which is causing the issue.

Yeah. That is the current issue. I'm just saying that if you have any offending AV programs, you could end up crawling back here anyway.

I am having the same issue:

Running: clean install of ubuntu 12.10, Openjava 7, nothing else installed

BTW: Fix for 'update failed' issue in WINDOWS is installing .net framework 2.0, 3.5, and all of the service packs.

obviously, as I'm currently playing in ubuntu, that's not available for me

Someone REALLY needs to update the software dependencies list on the wiki, it's NOT just java anymore.

I'll have to disagree with your "update failed" assessment, as that is not the solution that has been stickied. There isn't a 'wiki' with software dependencies, it's the CP&S you're thinking of, or the website. Again, don't threadjack this dead thread. Make your own bug report, since this one didn't fix your problem.
