me and my friends are creating a gigantic factory and they wanted me to build them the redstone stuff so i wanted to have a green lamp or luminator light up during the day signifying that its work time then turn off when the day is done any way to do that?

yes, use a light sensor connected to your lights.

ok, i thought light sensors only picked up like torches etc. and would i have to send it far away since if its too close the light sensor will pick up the lamp itself?

Well, you'll want opaque blocks in between them, at least. Like, have the light sensor on the roof and the lamp inside the building...

use wireless redstone and put it outside the facility. it will be prettyer that way
