Technic launcher refuses to open, stuck on logo screen.

Launcher Version: technic-launcher-latest.jar also on the previous version. (updated since problem)

Operating System: windows 7 home premium 64 bit

Java Version: latest: java 7u6 64 bit

Antivirus Program: before: AVG free Now: avast free, i changed antivirus neither work.

Description of Problem:

I was told to make a new thread because my problem is apparently so far unique. After the shortcut is clicked, whether on .exe or .jar, the launcher begins to start up as normal, it gets to the logo splash screen and stops there, the screen is permanently there until ended in task manager. I first had the cannot connect to minecraft.net bug but that changed to this after i restarted my router. i have tried:

Redownloading launcher,

Redownloading .techniclauncher in %appdata%

rebooting pc

redownloading java

updating java

downgrading java

allowing through firewall

turning off antivirus and firewall and both at a time.

shouting

punching a pillow

suffocating in my own misery

still the same. sigh.

i think that if you are really desperate to play you should probably just back up all ur documents and data, and just wipe your computer. that will fix it, i just got a new computer and now technic works on that so yeah. if iit doesnt work then you may have just wiped your files. u need to do a complete system reset and return the whole computer to its factory settings cause atm i have found 0 other fixes for it.

does restoring to factory settings delete my data? Or just reset hardware and software and stuff. If it helps. My computer is pretty buggy itself, it blue screen 'o' deaths occasionally and it says kdbsync (or kbdsync dunno which) has stopped working. Also i had to disable my wifi port miniadapter as that was causing it to blue screen too. the miniport adapter does not affect my wifi or internet connection, so i'm a bit confused as to what it does. Technic was however still working after this and then stopped. Is that any help to anyone?

FIXED IT FIXED IT FIXED IT! It was an antivirus or firewall problem. I did turn them off before but for some reason this time it worked. I am guessing i did it wrong. I do have 2 antivirus programs, i went through and completely disabled every firewall program i could see and then went into task manager and cleared there too. In other words i disabling my antivirus and firewall didn't work but i had to entirely reset it. Thanks so much for your help over the past few weeks guys but i can't help feeling after that i have kinda wasted your time (after it being firewall and antivirus after all, I think the program stopping it launching was my firewall zonealarm which i think is kinda an agressive firewall)so i guess i owe you a few hours back (guess you could come and take them off me in like 60 years or whatever XD) :D.

P.S.- just discovered that as soon as firewall was re-enabled, i got 'could not connect to minecraft.net' problem again which was the source of the problem in the first place. Guess i will have to start playing with no firewall then. :P

I don't know what the problem is sorry, there are probably other threads about this, all i can tell you now is have you tried redownloading the launcher, rebooting your pc or deleting the .techniclauncher folder. That normally works for me.

I have 2 antiviruses because one is antivirus the other is firewall and antivirus. Also, i discovered my firewall was on high security, i set it to medium and now the launcher works fine... mostly.
