New to Minecraft servers and can't get Tekkit up.

I'm a new user to Minecraft, brought in by a friend who wants me to run a server. now that Tekkit has updated to match minecrafts latest version I downloaded the pack and extracted it but can't for the life of me find any guides or anything that will help me get a server set up.

I was able to get a vanilla server running fine but my friend and i love the technic mods and would like to get a server that is workable with it.

right now when i load Technic it loads ver.1.1 though my minecraft is the updated version. i would just like info on how a new user can set up a server on their own without "updating". even a link to a forum topic that will help would be nice...

Digging though forums i found someone with the same issue... i'm going to try the solution that fixed it for them ^.^ thanks all

:o Sorry to bother again... Server is up it seems but when I try to get into the game the server gives me the error "Requires you to have Minecraft Forge installed". ideas?

Okay... problem solved... but a new arises... i was trying through Technic not Tekkit... i'm noob... but now it says i'm missing 7 mods including Doorfix and Craftingtable... i'm trying to reinstall the launcher. but if anyone has other ideas.

You must select the 2.1.0 | Latest version.

Launcher, Tekkit selected, options, manual build, choose 2.1.0 | Latest, ok. Now try to connect.
