gavjenks Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 The horrible graphical glitches it causes on frame motors + general uselessness to me as a mod make me want to trash it ASAP. However, since it modifies base classes... ? Is there a version of tekkit available without it or something?
disconsented Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Proof that it is optifine specifically causing problems.
Luvera Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Optifine causes problems on some computers. Make a backup of modpack.jar (located in %appdata%\.techniclauncher\tekkit\bin in Windows XP, not sure about other OS). Open modpack.jar with Winrar or 7zip. Delete the following files: aaw.class acq.class adz.class amd.class Config$1.class Config.class ConnectedProperties.class ConnectedTextures.class ct.class ctm.png CustomAnimation.class CustomAnimationFrame.class CustomColorizer.class GuiAnimationSettingsOF.class GuiDetailSettingsOF.class GuiOtherSettingsOF.class GuiPerformanceSettingsOF.class GuiQualitySettingsOF.class hu.class ItemRendererHD.class jy.class l.class lr.class lv.class mx.class NaturalProperties.class NaturalTextures.class nl.class nq.class RandomMobs.class Reflector.class template.natural.properties TextureHDCompassFX.class TextureHDCustomFX.class TextureHDFlamesFX.class TextureHDFX.class TextureHDLavaFlowFX.class TextureHDLavaFX.class TextureHDPortalFX.class TextureHDWatchFX.class TextureHDWaterFlowFX.class TextureHDWaterFX.class VersionCheckThread.class vl.class wc.class WrUpdateState.class zq.class Download the latest Minecraft Forge for 1.2.5 Copy the following files to modpack.jar: aaw.class acq.class adz.class ct.class l.class lr.class vl.class This fully removes Optifine. If you still have problems after doing this, Optifine was not the cause of your problems.
MineCraftJunky28 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Well guys, i was tired of the bad textures in Linux, removing optifine worked for me. i do still have a few blocky textures, but i can live with them..
Sunderland Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Using OpenSUSE, the solution detailed above also worked for me.
stu2000 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Thanks Luvera! It seems to be working for me so far. I created a script to automate that fix (for linux users). Just download this into your home directory and run it. I made sure to give you credit in the header comments. http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=JRbuQky1
