I am trying to set up a private tekkit server for me and my friend to play on, but for some odd reason the server doesn't show up as "on" for my friend. I port forwarded and even made a separate port just for the tekkit server. What ever I try to do to fix it, it never works. Someone help!

NOTE: I am running a 1gb RAM tekkit server because my computer can't handle much more, I don't know if that is the problem or not.

At first, I used 25565 as the port, then i fowarded 25566 and used that for the server, still didn't work, then I came on here and started this thread. So, the local ip and the suggestion TheSavage1 made, I have already tried

Try using the external ip

Even if you are sure you know what it is search whats my ip on google and try connecting through your own computer using your external ip

I am using localhost, and i tried what you said and I cannot connect, maybe it is something with the external ip.
