Yes probably. We cant provide support for that however. Maybe someone has made a guide. Out of curiosity, why would you rather use the vanilla client over the launcher?

Because I play offline a lot and the vanilla client lets you but the launcher does not allow you to.

Where can i find out how to play in the vanilla client

Yes it does. the play offline feature, the one where you play offline, causes a button to pop up that says "play offline?" and clicking on it allows you to... play offline.

How'd you miss it?

But it does allow you to. If no internet connection is detected, it asks if you would like to run offline. It works exactly like the vanilla minecraft offline mode, so uh good luck I guess?
