System cannot find the file specified [unhandled exception]

Question

Posted

Launcher Version: 1.0.1.3

Operating System: Windows 7 64 bit

Java Version: Java 7 Update 07

Antivirus Program: Comodo Firewall with Defense+ and firewall disabled

Description of Problem:

It errors out like this when it's "Checking launcher version". Every single time. I placed the launcher both in .technic and .minecraft folders in an attempt to fix this issue but to no avail.

Error Messages:

See the end of this message for details on invoking

just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

application or computer (machine.config) must have the

jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.

The application must also be compiled with debugging

enabled.

For example:

<configuration>

<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />

</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception

will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

rather than be handled by this dialog box.

DO NOT BUMP POSTS. Your issue (which I can assure you, other people have successfully fixed) is no more important than the other issues posted. Read the stickies. They probably have a suggestion you have not tried.
