Losing inventory on LAN

So whenever my daughter and I play on LAN, she has to get rid of all her stuff before she exits, because sometimes it is gone when she logs back in. Today, she even lost her levels. I don't know if this is an issue related to our set up or the mudpack. This has only happened on Modded Network (both versions) but that has all we have played for months now. I plan to play vanilla or a different pack to see if it continues to happen. We also have trouble seeing each other's skin. We use the same windows account to log into the different computers, but obviously we use our own Minecraft acct. When we play, I host the game and she joins. For some reason, if she tries hosting the game, I can't join (weird huh?).

Anyone have a clue as to what is going on here?

Minecraft may be confused for your use of same computer for hosting and 2 gamers same time,

well thats my theory just get server hosted elsewhere or get other computer to play with for your daughter
